About Sushant Dudhsagre Central Railway Hospital (Igatpuri)
Sushant Dudhsagre Central Railway Sub-Divisional Hospital is a historic medical institution administered by the Central Railway (CR) Bhusawal / Mumbai division, located in the Railway Colony of Igatpuri hill station. Because Igatpuri is a mandatory railway operational hub where locomotives change power systems and engines detach before ascending or descending the Thul Ghat (Kasara Ghat), this hospital has historically played a critical emergency triage role. The hospital operates an emergency first-aid station and casualty ward prepared to treat railway passenger emergencies, en-route train accidents, and cardiac incidents on long-distance express trains. It is staffed by Railway Medical Officers (RMO) and qualified nursing personnel skilled in acute trauma, burn stabilization, and shock resuscitation. While primarily serving Central Railway employees, pensioners, and their dependents, the hospital cooperates closely with local civil administration and the 108 Emergency Service to render humanitarian emergency stabilization to interstate passengers and highway travelers involved in transit mishaps.
